CHRISTMAS JOY
It’s been a wonderful Christmas. There seems to be so much running around from one place to the next. Eating far beyond our capacity and still we keep eating. The joy and love of this season has been as plentiful as the food. Nothing compares to spending time with the ones you love, or seeing the children’s faces light with excitement; hearing their laughter.
Everyone has a hug for mom/grandma. That has to be the best part of all. I’m very big on hugs! Today was a great day. Just having our children around us at this time of year is all we need to make us happy. Watching the children open their gifts, seeing their faces light up and their smiles of happiness is hard to put into words.
Listening to the the boys (our sons) as they chat, teasing each other and just acting like boys again fills me with joy. It warms my heart that they are such good friends and genuinely have a deep love for each other. As I quietly watch them as adults I remember the sparse Christmas’s of our past and realize life is very good. The gifts don’t matter, the food doesn't matter and the snow doesn't matter. All that really matters is the LOVE.
Having everyone home is wonderful but it’s also nice when they've all gone and it’s just me and Sexyman. Peace and quiet are blessings too! It's such a busy time of year with dinner invites, Christmas parties, shopping, preparations and travel. It is a lot to cram into a such a small span of time.
