THE IMPORTANCE OF HOBBIES
Everyone is rushing from here to there, working long hours, running kids to programs but what do we do for ourselves? Do you take time out just for yourself. Do you indulge yourself in something that you love to do. Something that you choose to do for no reason other than you want to do it. Do you have a hobby? I do. I have a few hobbies. I'm an avid Cichlid aquarist, blogger, photobug and a few other things I consider my outlets. I have to admit my Cichlids top my list. Some of my hobbies are seasonal like gardening.
Think about your life and what you do just for you. Hobbies are an important part of a healthy happy existence. In my opinion we all need a hobby or two. In this world of stress we benefit greatly from having an outlet to remove ourselves from our daily lives and get lost in the pleasure of something we love to do.
There are many reason hobbies are beneficial. Focusing on a hobby gives you a wonderful break from your busy schedule. It's a time of refreshing and recharging your soul. Hobbies can be a social outlet where you meet like minded people sharing a passion with each other. Some hobbies are set in a social setting, reading groups, golfing, knitting circles and more bringing people together who enjoy the same activities. Meeting people and making friends is a stress relief in itself.
Spending time doing something you love will lift your mood and inevitably carry on into your everyday life. Hobbies are fun, relaxing, will bring fun into your life. If you don't have a hobby find something you like to do and do it. Take some time out for yourself. It will give you a sense of purpose, a new dimension to your life, something you will love to talk about and share with others not to mention we are continually learning when we are involved in something new.
Having a hobby does not have to be a time consuming commitment. Remember a hobby is doing something you love - just because you choose to.
