HOW'S YOUR EGO

How would you describe your Ego? Our Egos are defined by our levels of self-esteem and our self-importance. For the most part we have always been taught, having good self-esteem is positive and having low self-esteem in negative. Unfortunately this is not always the case.

It’s important for us to have confidence in ourselves, our abilities and our skills. These are necessary in reaching our goals and being successful in life. Now you need to take a good look at yourself and decide if all the wonderful things you are capable of, your abilities; your skills are being used for the benefit of others.

When you primarily focus on yourself, your needs, wants and goals – you will more than likely fail. However, if your focus is to use your skills for the benefit of others you will soon find success. This is in no way an attempt at crushing your Ego but examining your motives. When your primary focus in life is yourself then you have a high Ego, which tends to lean toward selfishness.

The key to any success is the ability to reach out and make a difference in the lives of the people around you. I encourage you to let go of some of your Ego, so that you can focus on helping others reach their own potential. Through that you will soon find your life becomes much richer and you yourself will end up being more successful.

Think about what is driving you. Are you motivated to make a difference? Are your motivations purely selfish and if they are – are you prepared to make some changes? I think it’s time we lose a little Ego to build the character underneath.
